Motorola Quench XT5 – An Expensive Smartphone

Motorola has long had a problem with mass models of phones, no, they produce excellent models, but this flagship version. The same things and Android - smartphones. The company has an excellent model Milestone / Droid or Droid2, but their cost is not to say the least for the middle class. A produce low or medium class models they like something does not work, not enough sales, and operators are not particularly willing to cooperate with the company. But Motorola has found a way - ODM-development, i.e. the company - a partner provides all the "hardware", and Motorola design creates and prepares the device at its sole discretion. Today we consider this as the budget and fairly simple by the standards of Android - smartphone apparatus.

Design

Design ... what to say, no-nonsense, normal candy bar, the front surface is covered with plastic, which protects the display while it is very easily soiled, almost touching each finger is a track that is not so easy to scrub. In this case the side of the rear panel and velvety, as a consequence of this phone is very nice to hold. Note that the device lies in the hand perfectly, and in the pocket and hardly feel it even though its not light weight.

At the upper end of the device is a connector 3.5 mm stereo connector - Headphone and headset.

On the side of the phone are in general like everyone else. The left side is a connector micro USB, which is hidden under the rubber plug to connect to a PC and for charging. On the right is the key "rocker" to adjust the volume button and a quick start camera.

In this model, there is a plus for those who cannot be entirely without mechanical keys. In Quench XT5 developers should consider the call button and hang up the call. Display

Just note that the display in this device is made on a capacitive technology, which in itself is a plus for a budget model the smartphone, and it is absolutely wonderful that the display supports multi-touch. So in the photos it works very smoothly and without problems.

In addition, the display was developed based on TFT and can display up to 262 000 colors. The diagonal is 3.2 inches, which is not bad, but in conjunction with the design, the display looks great. The screen supports a maximum resolution of 320x480 pixels. What tapes display brightness, the sun it still fade, but the text remains quite readable. Image quality is simply excellent, especially when compared to other competitive models. The image on the display is bright and contrast, the colors are not mixed up and clearly displayed. We can say that the display on this model one of the best among the other phones in this category.


Camera

What can we say about the camera? It’s a normal 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. And even though it’s a decent resolution camera shows the results of below average. In the dark or in poor lighting pictures are not clear and sometimes even blurred and there is not even saved in flash. But here on the street pictures are much better, even on a cloudy day you can take off quite a decent shot.

The camera can record videos in a format 3gpp (codec h.263), shooting speed is 15 frames per second. You can record a maximum resolution of 320x240 pixels. Another nice thing is not - no settings, although a camera to a minimum.


Results

In general, the phone is very good. It closest rival is the HTC Wildfire, but it is more expensive and as it is far behind the screen. With other models compare quite heavily, or the price of greater than or display does not compare in quality. In Motorola's a terrific budget model, which was almost a perfect balance of price \ quality.
